Business Development Manager The Relais Retreats
A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a driven Business Development Manager to join a growing portfolio The Relais Retreats. You will be responsible for predominantly driving new business via the Agency segment and also local corporate.
We are looking for someone with tons of personality who can spark up a conversation, build and maintain relationships and be the face of the hotels.
The Role
As an integral part of the sales team, the Business Development Manager will support the Group Director of Sales in developing and executing the strategic sales plan in order to drive new business across these key segments. Targeting new business through relationship building, effective use of CRM and analysis of all sales pipelines, this role will help to grow these key business drivers, delivering additional revenues. Proactively support events along with the Group Director of Sales in collaboration with POB and Classic British hotel consortia.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the creation, development and execution of the MICE and Agent sales plans, in-line with the wider commercial and marketing plans
* Proactively seek new business opportunities at all times, identifying target organisations and key decision makers in order to deliver growth in the MICE and Agency segments
* Work closely with the Group Director of Sales and Sales & Event Executives along with Hotel Managers to proactively target periods of risk to achieve and exceed revenue targets
* Work closely with Group Revenue to ensure proposals are tailored to clients' requirements
* Support in the reporting of key sales KPI's on a weekly and monthly basis, suggesting areas for improvement
* Support the effective management and build the database of corporate bookers, travel managers and event agencies
* Use CRM to maintain regular contact with target bookers, travel managers and agencies
* Maintain regular contact with key existing clients, agencies and prospects, ensuring positive working relationships are maintained and accounts are developed in-line with key account development plans
* Support the Group Director of Sales to attend and represent The Relais Retreats properties at industry events, exhibitions and agency events
* Arrange and host regular FAM trips, conducting site inspections and virtual tours to support the conversion of new business
* Identify and secure appointments with key event agencies
* Report on effectiveness of sales activities and new business, with a drive for consistent improvement and data driven decision making
* Work closely with all Hotel Managers and HOD's to ensure new business opportunities are maximised at all times and conversion targets are met.
* Attend regular Sales meetings to update on activity and align with Sales team on activity to drive revenue as required
* Attend weekly Sales Strategy meetings
* Support other business development activities.
What were looking for:
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
* Proven track sales record with the hospitality sector, preferably within Hotels
* Ability to work as an individual taking initiative and be of a wider Hotel team
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
* Well presented with excellent customer service skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
* Positive and proactive approach
* Have you own car and be able to drive (milage allowance applies)
* Be flexible to stay away overnight and work evenings and weekends when hosting event and fam trips
