The post holder will be part of the Early Intervention for psychosis service and may be required to work with clients within both the At Risk Mental State and the First Episode Psychosis pathways. They will work with clients who have a range of psychosis-related problems for which Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide high quality person-centered care which always considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence-based.
2. To understand independent specialist assessment and therapy of service users, where appropriate making complex clinical decisions regarding service user management and clinical outcomes.
3. To provide advanced clinical advice and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis, and advanced decision-making skills.
4. To manage change, to monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education. To promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice.
5. This post will support the other lead clinicians to ensure that national guidelines are adhered to in line with the national programme targets are achieved and that the clinical governance arrangements are in place.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
1. A recorded / registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level (2:1 standard or above) in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy.
2. Two year post graduate diploma in CBT for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder.
Desirable
1. Familiarity with the CTS-R as a means of self-rating and receiving feedback on CBT skills.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge base
Essential
1. Demonstrable at least two years' experience of working in mental health services at the secondary care level.
2. Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.
3. At least one year's experience offering CBTp.
Desirable
1. Worked in a Service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
