In this role, you will work to support clinicians in delivering high-quality care to patients with cancer. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient observations, preparing patients for examinations, and ensuring smooth communication between various departments such as Radiology, Pharmacy, and Oncology. You will also provide emotional and practical support to patients during their treatment journey. If you have a compassionate approach and a desire to make a difference in patient care, we encourage you to apply for this vital position Main duties of the job To provide a service that is tailored to meet the needs of the individual and to understand what our patients need and be adaptable and responsive where required. Ensure that patients understand their follow-up arrangements and explains the timing of any investigations requested by the clinician Meet with the team on a weekly basis to discuss clinic requirements for the forthcoming week. On a daily basis, liaise with colleagues to ensure that all clinics are covered and reports to manager when required Measure and record patient height and weight Bring up results of investigations to include IHCS, PACS, Ultragenda, Infoflex screens during clinics as required Advises/assist patients in preparing for clinical examination, maintaining privacy/dignity at all times Following a decision to treat, ensures that all necessary paperwork is completed correctly and relevant staff informed, so that appointments can be made with the minimum of delay. Also discusses transport requirements with patient and enquires re preferred time of day for treatment.
