Role Purpose
• To maximize profitable sales growth by predominantly increasing market share in line with the sales plans.
• To maintain and develop existing retail outlets and displays.
• To participate as a team member of the sales team in the achievement of its goals proposing suggestions that will grow profitable sales.
Hours of Work
• 40 hours per week, to be worked Monday to Friday.
• Due to this role being an area position, travelling out of working hours and occasional overnight stays away from home will be necessary.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Increase sales and profitable growth in line with Company targets.
• Exceed set sales targets and objectives in line to achieve the sales plan.
• Increase outlets and displays.
• Support in-direct contracts via trusted regional partners.
• Identify and fill geographical gaps in the area with commercially viable outlets/customers.
• Keep costs and expenditure in line with budgets set.
• Build and maintain long term, productive working relationships with customer base.
• Regular and objective-based retail customer visits (new and potential customers).
• Use CRM system to maintain up-to-date and accurate customer account information.
• Develop and maintain accurate reporting.
• Maintain relationships with key trading partners.
• Support retailers to increase their sales turnover through promoting appropriate products and POS, attend launches and events, providing retailers staff training etc.
• Maintain and develop detailed understanding of competitors.
• Promote secure factory and showroom visits to showcase the business products and training.
• Design showroom displays for customers up to two displays and thereafter, with central support.
• Prepare for and attend quarterly Sales Meetings (in-person and virtual).
• Ensure sensible investments and spend within agreed limits.
• Propose key customer trading agreements to the National Sales Manager.
Key Relationships
• Level, Nature & Purpose within the wider sales department.
• CEO, Head of Retail Sales, National Sales Manager, Area Sales Managers, Industrial BDM’s and other heads of departments.
• External Customers: Propose commercial trading arrangements, displays sales into new and existing outlets and oversee customer performance.
• Internal Customers: Input as required to heads of department, predominantly Technical, Finance, Marketing and Customer Services.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
• Kitchen & bedroom market knowledge.
• Proven track record of successful, profitable sales.
• Proven success in managing a sales area.
• Demonstrate high achievement of own success with practical examples.
• Effective time and account management skills.
• Able to prioritize.
• IT literate, PowerPoint, Excel and Word including capability to use tablet and telephone technologies.
• Full driving licence.
Desirable:
• Design and planning ability.
• Ability to use design CAD systems.
• Formal sales techniques training.
