Job Description:
New Care is seeking to appoint a kind, organised and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Statham Manor Care Centre, a purpose-built care facility situated in the picturesque village of Lymm in the heart of Cheshire. The home is registered to provide care to 66 residents who have a variety of care needs including residential and nursing care.
The home reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activity and gentle exercise to enhance the experience, care, and wellbeing of our residents. All team members are hand-selected for their warmth and passion and have a full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy.
We have a 35 hour contract available with an hourly rate of £11.44! Shift times are 0800-1900, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Assist with food preparation and cooking for daily menus as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef.
2. Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules.
3. Ensure compliance at all times with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, and HACCP requirements and legislation.
4. Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef.
5. Undertake pot washing duties on a daily basis.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Previous experience of working in food services is desirable.
2. Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential.
4. A willingness to learn is essential.
5. No formal qualifications are required as we provide training & development in relation to this role.
