Salary range: Band 4 (£27,711 to £30,060)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Insurance team for a dynamic and committed individual to support the council as their appointed Insurance Assistant.
You will be involved in all aspects of risk and insurance, such as claims administration, customer support, financial transactions, claim recoveries, and insurance policy arrangements.
You will work with all Microsoft Office packages and our claims recording database. You will work flexibly to support all areas of the team, with an opportunity to build your own areas of expertise.
You will be joining a team of motivated and welcoming risk and insurance professionals and have a supportive manager keen to facilitate your development, with the opportunity to work towards a professional qualification in risk and insurance.
About you
* Excellent numeracy, literacy, and accuracy skills with an ability to use initiative to solve problems.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* Customer care and resolution-focused with the ability to prioritise and work accurately.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
* Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A commitment to continued self-development and awareness of changes to the legal landscape in order to support proficient claims handling.
* Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
