An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team at Musgrove Park Hospital. This is a rotational post. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated and with good communication and interpersonal skills. We provide high quality support to our patients. This is a full-time post, but we are happy to consider part time hours minimum 22.5hrs, as we are committed to enabling good work/life balance for our team.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join our friendly team of assistants, technicians and pharmacists. The post holder will work flexibly to deliver a Pharmacy Service rotating between Dispensary, Aseptic services, Stores, and Ward Distribution.
1. Dispensary - dispensing medication for inpatients and outpatients from the pharmacy robot.
2. Aseptic services - working in our newly refurbished aseptic suite at the Beacon Production Unit supporting the team with preparing chemotherapy treatments, this is a Pharmacy run production unit with specialist equipment to help prepare individual patient treatments.
3. Ward Distribution - carry out a medicines top-up service on wards and will assist with other medicines related duties i.e. medicines expiry checks, stock checks and returning medicines.
4. Stores - Receiving deliveries of pharmaceutical goods to support the store person.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education to include Science, Maths and English at grades A* to C.
* Must be able to communicate in English Language, both written and verbally appropriate to the post.
* Must have NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent inhouse training.
* Experience in working in Aseptic production.
Experience
* Demonstrated experience of working in a Community or Hospital Pharmacy.
Additional Criteria
* Good communication skills on the telephone, via email, face to face and in written correspondence.
* Professional and responsible approach at all times.
* Ability to organise own time.

£24,071 to £25,674 a year. Minimum 22.5hrs per week preferably working 7.5hrs per day.
