The Opportunity
Our client, a leading financial cooperative, is seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its executive leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic leader with a track record of operational excellence and strategic delivery within the financial services sector. The COO will be instrumental in driving performance, enhancing member experience, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a purpose-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide executive leadership across all operational functions, ensuring seamless delivery of member services, lending operations, collections, and digital channels.
* Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans.
* Identify and implement operational efficiencies to enhance service quality and financial performance.
* Uphold strong governance and risk management practices, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives in partnership with technology teams to optimise operational processes.
* Build and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
* Develop and manage operational budgets with a focus on financial sustainability and growth.
* Act as a key liaison with regulators, external partners, and the Board of Directors.
Candidate Profile
* Extensive experience in a senior operational leadership role within financial services, ideally in retail banking or cooperative financial institutions.
* Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and implement transformative operational improvements.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
* Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
* Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a passion for developing talent and building cohesive teams.
* Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
