Job Description Summary
The Operations Productivity Data Scientist will work in a team addressing statistical, machine learning, and data understanding problems in line with leadership-defined productivity challenges. You will have exposure to large datasets, wide & mixed data, feature engineering and transformation, and statistical & AI model development.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting productivity initiatives, deploying operational process changes, and digital tools across GEAS sites to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer outcomes. Having the ability to facilitate and motivate cross-functional teams to adopt productivity initiatives, diligently track program adoption and financial impact, and be a flexible team player are vital skills essential for success in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Partner with GE DT to shape Statements of Work for Data Science opportunities and Digital Solutions.
* Participate in Data Science Workouts and identify opportunities to use data science to create customer value.
* Develop, verify, and validate analytics to address customer needs and opportunities.
* Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.
* Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
* Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing, and data analytics.
* Generate reports, annotated code, and other project artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes.
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar.
Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
* Demonstrated skill in serving as a change agent.
* Demonstrated skill in working in an ambiguous environment.
* Advanced programming in Python.
* Proficiency in SQL.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
