Quality Engineer

Our client has been a leader in advanced system integration for decades; optimising efficiency & delivering performance on a massive scale within the nuclear sector.
They currently require a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their site based in Reading and support on a variety of contracts. Within this role, you will be responsible for ensuring relevant customer standards are understood and adhered to, to meet the traceability requirement.
The role will include the control of each contract QA requirements, taking the leading QA on assigned contracts including discussions with customers, setting up of QA systems as required, QA inspections, review and approval of documentation and involvement in design and assembly processes. There will be a frequent requirement to undertake inspection of electrical control panels and advising Project Managers and the wider team of QA related issues. The role will also be required to assist any administrative support in maintaining quality records, particularly around lifetime quality records.
Role Description:
Actively working with project staff in promoting continual improvement in Quality Assurance performance
Participate in the setting up of QA requirements for new projects to ensure customer QA requirements are understood, communicated and met both by the business and our suppliers.
Assist suppliers in the development of processes and Manufacturing Inspection Test Plans to meet customers requirements.
Develop Quality Assurance documents to meet the customers build and lifetime quality record requirements.
Work with customers included nominated inspectors when reviewing product and quality records
Complete internal and second party audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements are maintained
To liaise with clients on matters of Quality Assurance and attendance at clients meetings when required
Participate in the approval and monitoring of suppliers and contractors which are used within company or on client’s sites as required.
Support the QESH function when providing business development with pre-qualification and tender information.
Responsible for the production and collation of information for Lifetime records and ensuring Inspection and Test Plans are completed and adhered to
