Multi-Skilled Engineer & Engineering Team Leader Vale of Glamorgan-Barry £43,350 initially rising to £45,900 Shift Pattern: Starting on 2pm-10pm, from mid-summer it will remain a day shift. Must be able to cover 6-2 or 2-10 as and when required. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Engineer & Engineering Team Leader to join our clients Engineering team at our Barry site. The Multi-Skilled Engineer & Team Leader is primarily responsible for delivering preventative, corrective, and reactive support to the operations team across all aspects of the site assets and infrastructure and to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing equipment. They will also supervise and lead the site engineering team including contractor management, work prioritisation and adherence to PPM schedules. As an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be able to complete the designated preventative maintenance tasks, identify potential failures and plan and execute corrective maintenance tasks. Being able to identify potential engineering / operational solutions to recurring failures and to implement and complete resolutions will also be required. Experience and / or qualifications in the following are critical to success. CMMS Development of PPM schedules based on experience, existing PPM’s and break down data. Electrical maintenance, including PLC’s Mechanical maintenance Mechanical assembly Motors Motor control fault finding Electrical / Pneumatic / Hydraulic fault finding Source and manage external contractors / suppliers Build relationships with group CI and engineering functions to enable continuous improvement Data driven Root cause analysis Support the development of engineering technician colleagues on site An effective team member, you will demonstrate high competency in health and safety awareness as well as excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mechanical power systems and the ability to interpret and amend technical, mechanical, and electrical drawings are expected. Presenting a problem-solving can-do attitude will be key to success. A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering related subject, ideally mechatronics is required and experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
