What you’ll do
Network Development and Aftersales oversees the journey from the appointment of our retailer network and then everything post sales to deliver an outstanding ownership experience, retaining customers within the brand and delivering outstanding commercial results in the aftersales business. This role is central to maximising commercial results in Aftersales. You will drive Volvo's trade parts sales through wholesale and the Volvo Genuine Parts Store (VGPS) Direct channel, as we develop and implement our e-commerce strategy for Trade Parts. The role is field based with regular visits to our Maidenhead and Daventry offices.
The Trade Parts Business Development Manager will implement Volvo’s trade sales strategy, guiding our Trade Sales Retailers in best practices, providing on site coaching and enhancing customer service levels. You’ll conduct joint end-customer account visits and establish direct commercial relationships through the Volvo Genuine Parts Store.
As Trade Parts Business Development Manager, your primary goal is to ensure Volvo Car UK’s revenue and profit targets are achieved by effectively implementing aftersales initiatives and the Volvo Genuine Parts Store for trade parts sales.
As a senior contact for our Retailer Partners, Senior Regional Business Partners, Aftersales Specialists, and Trade/Body shop end customers, you will drive change, enhance aftersales performance, and create a cost-efficient, profitable environment.
Your innovative and strategic approach will optimise performance, meeting goals for turnover, revenue, account growth, and direct profit within both the wholesale and VGPS channels. You will also actively support the VGPS direct trade parts programme implementation, foster end-customer relationships, and work to improve retailer performance through targeted coaching.
Your key deliverables will include
* E-commerce Transition: Lead the migration of trade parts accounts to the VGPS digital e-commerce platform, overseeing training, account migration, and system usage.
* Sales Targets and Channel Management: Achieve parts sales targets across trade and body shop end customer channels, supporting retailers and hosting performance review and planning meetings.
* Account and Insurance Verification: Manage account verification, credit insurance applications, and oversee trade e-commerce onboarding and reporting.
* Scorecard and KPI Support: Use the Aftersales and Ownership trade parts e-commerce Power BI scorecard to track, and optimise trade parts sales performance.
* Marketing and Campaign Leadership: Develop trade parts marketing assets, design and implement campaigns, and provide account management support for new prospect, active, lapsed and lost accounts.
* Customer and Retailer Escalations: Act as a key point of contact for handling trade e-commerce queries related to orders, returns, warranty, and technical support.
* Sales Growth and Retention Strategies: Design and execute trade parts retention, development, and performance strategies, aligning with reward structures.
* Customer Satisfaction Programs: Implement end customer satisfaction initiatives to drive necessary changes in trade parts sales.

Skills and Experience
* Industry Expertise: Minimum 5 years in a senior automotive role, ideally in Aftersales or B2B Trade Parts sales.
* Analytical Ability: Proficient in interpreting performance data to identify areas of improvement and implement effective solutions.
* Customer Engagement and Adaptability: Strong communication skills, adept at managing high-level negotiations and maintaining customer relationships.
* Leadership Qualities: Positive, resilient outlook with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, thriving under pressure.
* Dealer and Trade Knowledge: Familiarity with dealer operations and trade parts sales, with experience in management roles within dealerships or motor manufacturers.
