Lead Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Salary: £48k - 52k per annum Location: Ellesmere Port Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Are you a skilled leader with a strong background in mechanical maintenance within a top-tier COMAH industry, preferably Petrochemical? Our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and drive maintenance operations in a high-performing environment. About the Role This is a day-based role offering consistent working hours, but flexibility is essential to support occasional shutdowns and plant outages. You'll also participate in a call-out rota when required and deputise as needed. Your Main Purpose Lead and inspire a team to execute preventative and planned mechanical maintenance, ensuring operational priorities are met while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. What You'll Be Doing: Executing planned, corrective, and preventative maintenance schedules. Monitoring and updating the CMS system to log tasks and relevant work history. Overseeing the stores process to track and manage tools, spare parts, and consumables efficiently. Leading, mentoring, and motivating your team, including performance management, training, and competence development. Promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to SHE practices. Driving continuous improvement within the team, identifying opportunities for enhanced performance and cost savings. Managing contractors to ensure all outsourced work is conducted safely, on scope, and to high standards. What You'll Bring: Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams. Organisational Expertise: Strong time management, prioritisation, and analytical skills. Communication: Clear, effective communication with stakeholders at all levels. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in using CMS systems and knowledge of maintenance engineering standards. Budget Awareness: Understanding of cost management and efficiency improvements. IT Skills: Comfortable using software like Excel and PowerPoint. Experience & Qualifications Required: Essential: A trade-based apprenticeship. Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH). Significant mechanical maintenance experience in the Oil/Gas/Chemical industry. Experience managing critical spares and leading teams of contractors. Desirable: COMAH site experience.
