Human Resources Assistant – West Bromwich A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Human Resources Assistant to join a well-established organisation in West Bromwich. The Role: The HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, and strategic HR initiatives. Key Responsibilities: HR Administration & Operations: Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance on policies and procedures. Maintain and update HR systems and employee records, ensuring compliance with GDPR. Draft and process HR documents, including offer letters, employment contracts, and contract variations. Support payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee data entry, including new hires, terminations, and leave records. Monitor and track key HR metrics such as absence, turnover, and training compliance. Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, shortlisting candidates, and interview coordination. Conduct initial candidate screenings and provide feedback where necessary. Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition with welcome packs, inductions, and system setup. Employee Relations & Engagement: Act as a first point of contact for employee concerns, escalating issues where necessary. Support disciplinary and grievance procedures, including documentation and minute-taking. Assist in employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys, recognition programs, and events. Conduct exit interviews and provide insights into trends or concerns for management review. Policy & Compliance: Assist in developing and updating HR policies to ensure compliance with UK employment law. Ensure the consistent communication and implementation of HR policies across the organisation. Support internal and external audits related to HR compliance and processes. HR Projects & Strategic Support: Collaborate on HR projects, including diversity & inclusion initiatives, employee wellbeing, and process improvements. Provide data analysis and reports to support workforce planning and decision-making. Contribute to organisational change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and smooth transitions. Requirements: Education & Qualifications: A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). CIPD Level 3 certification or working towards Level 5 (preferred). Personal Attributes: Professional and approachable, able to build relationships across all levels. High level of confidentiality and discretion. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
