Job overview
You will be an invaluable member of our team and help support clinics providing hearing assessments, rehabilitation and hearing aid services at the RUH, as well as in the community.
The position involves frontline patient contact and therefore highly-developed interpersonal skills are necessary. The role is varied and has scope for development. We invest in further training and will seek to facilitate opportunities for motivated individuals; indeed, this post provides a significant step for obtaining clinical experience and in turn, further roles unique to NHS Audiology.
You will be expected to:
1. Assist in a range of routine clinical tasks within predefined limits and to departmental guidelines.
2. Perform clerical and administrative duties within the department including electronic stock control.
3. Recognise problems beyond your own area of knowledge and expertise and refer onwards or seek advice as required.
4. Undertake follow-up clinics in accordance with department protocol referring onwards as necessary.
5. Demonstrate own duties to others.
6. Assist in the overall, smooth running of day-to-day operational functions.
7. Assist in ensuring the Patient Administration System is regularly updated, reflecting the current waiting list, patient status and medical management of those on the system.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide support for adult ENT clinics, hearing aid repair clinics and routine hearing assessments/fittings at the RUH and community sites.
2. Support both the adult and paediatric teams' administration requirements.
3. Carry out otoscopy and ear impressions, within limits of practice.
4. Carry out stock management.

* Good organisational skills
