Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Newgate Lane is a happy home, where up to 4 people we support live. Their ages range between 55-80 and they are cheerful and friendly. Their support needs are far ranging. Some can walk around their home freely, while others require quite a bit more physical support. Some are verbal and others non-verbal, some with visual and hearing impairment, autism and learning disabilities. They have lots of different challenges in their lives, so we need you to be adaptable and to truly be there for the people we support in lots of different ways, encouraging independence where possible, and helping when needed. The service is located in a quiet area at the end of the road. There is a driveway where staff can park as well as road side parking. There is very big garden with a pond, it has a beautiful tree and plenty of room for BBQ’s and other garden activities. There is a shared dining room, kitchen, and lounge, where everyone enjoys spending time. As well as time together at home, some days are spent out shopping, in places like Gunwharf Quays. Whilst other days are spent going for a drive in the van, and enjoying a packed lunch. The house is well situated in an area with lots of beaches, and there are some lovely parks nearby. These are great for nice walks and picnics. The town centre is a few miles up the road which has cinemas and shops which are visited regularly too.
