Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join a leading lift company based in the South East joining their major works division as a Quantity Surveyor. They offer an impressive salary of up to £60,000, car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and so much more.
Summary of Quantity Surveyor role:
The responsibility is to manage all financial and commercial aspects of assigned contracts and projects, ensuring costs are minimised and value recovery is maximised.
Additionally, ensuring that contracts are completed within budget, on schedule, in accordance with specifications, and aligned with company procedures and objectives.
Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
* Handle all valuations and payment applications
* Ensure timely certification of payment applications
* Oversee cash collection efforts, including certification and retention
* Collaborate closely with Project and Site Managers on all project aspects
* Generate ongoing cash flow forecasts based on project schedules and progress
* Develop and maintain an up-to-date draft final account, submitting it with each valuation to keep the client informed of their financial responsibilities
* Create and maintain clear Cost to Complete assessments for all contracts, protecting against margin erosion
* Actively enhance understanding of all commercial aspects related to Major Works operations
* Maintain precise contract records, ensuring digital and local storage of relevant documentation
Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:
* Proficient in Microsoft including Excel
* Proven experience as a QS
* Be able to deal with difficult clients or customers
* Have a positive outlook and be self-motivated
* Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contracts
* Knowledge of Design, Build contracts and the different processes.
