The Opportunity
Weaver Vale Housing Trust has an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career with a great company. We are looking for a driven, diligent, and friendly BI Engineer to join our Digital Solutions Development Team.
What Will You Do?
1. Work with stakeholders from across the business to understand their data needs and translate them into BI solutions.
2. Own the process for taking information captured in our Line of Business systems through to it being used for operational and analytical needs by our colleagues.
3. Define and deliver a roadmap to evolve the platform to make best use of existing and new capabilities and practices in the on-premise Microsoft BI suite & Fabric platform.
4. Ensure all information presented through our BI offering is consistent, accurate and organised for effective use by business colleagues.
5. Support and develop a small community of report writers to operate autonomously in their business areas, shaping the underlying models to facilitate this as needed.
Minimum Requirements For This Role
1. Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 4 years’ commercial experience working with Microsoft SQL Server ETL and BI technologies – SQL Server DBMS, Transact SQL, SSIS, SSAS.
3. Minimum of 2 years’ commercial experience working with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service and DAX.
4. Proven experience eliciting BI requirements from business users and translating them into effective BI solution designs.
5. Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
Additionally, due to the flexible working arrangements with this role, you will need access to a room where you can work from and a suitable internet connection.
