Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and production, with a flair for creativity and a commitment to excellence in hospitality, along with good knowledge of authentic Western and Southern Asian cuisine. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety, and managing a team of dedicated cooks.
Duties
1. Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation and cooking.
2. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
3. Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
4. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
5. Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs effectively.
6. Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to foster a collaborative team environment.
7. Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements where necessary.
8. Assist in the recruitment of kitchen staff as needed.
Experience
1. Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
2. Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
3. Demonstrated ability in team management, with excellent leadership qualities.
4. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
5. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
6. A passion for cooking and helping others develop their culinary skills.
