Course Code: KPE332H: Innovations in Mobile Health
Course description: Mobile health or mHealth utilizes the capabilities of a mobile device such as a cellphone to provide, disseminate, and measure health interventions and physical activity. mHealth has been used for disease management and prevention, physical activity monitoring and evaluation, monitoring of health status, providing access to health care services in remote areas, and for health and physical activity promotion. This course introduces students to the concepts, definitions, advantages, and limitations of mHealth. This course will be relevant to those who wish to pursue careers as health care providers, physical educators, and those who have a future in research and critical analysis.
Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2026 - April 30, 2026
Minimum Qualifications: PhD preferred in a relevant area, or combination of relevant expertise and experience. Teaching experience in college or university setting is an asset.
Description of duties:All duties associated with the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to the course, if applicable. This course will be taught in person.
This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
