The Senior Graphic Designer position is a creative and technical role that is responsible for designing and producing artwork for various forms of digital and print media. Working out of our Weybridge or Oslo location, the Designer is charged with creating visual elements and collateral pieces that clearly communicate strategic messages in a way that is attractive, appropriate, and useful for each TGS audience, allowing our brand to facilitate productive experiences with them. The person in this role will work closely with Marketing Department team members and other TGS stakeholders to help bring concepts to life.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create, design, and format marketing materials for digital and print including brochures, trade show graphics, advertising, annual reports, social media assets, and ad hoc design projects for the Marketing department and other TGS stakeholders.
2. Translate business requirements, user needs, and technical requirements into designs that communicate well, are visually enticing, and easy to use.
3. Ensure brand consistency and quality across all media; develop and maintain style standards on fonts, colors, and images across all design communications.
4. Apply conceptual thinking and creativity to complex design problems from conception to production.
5. Create and design illustrations, maps, and information graphics to tell the TGS story.
6. Work collaboratively with the marketing team, creative design team members, and other TGS or third-party stakeholders to maintain a unified and aligned visual identity across all platforms.
7. Maintain an excellent knowledge of emerging trends in design, customer experience, and user experience and advise on best practices and tools to perform the job well.
8. Develop video assets for trade shows, social media, and other digital platforms.
9. Maintain quality on all design assets.
10. Attend meetings as required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1. A bachelor's or associate degree in graphic design, communications, visual arts, or related field.
2. 8 or more years of demonstrated experience as a designer in an in-house creative department, design firm, or corporation. Portfolio required.
3. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Qualifications:
1. Adaptable and quick learner. Ability to work well in a team environment, giving and receiving appropriate critique for the betterment of the solution. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated leadership experience.
2. Experience with building brand identity systems and contributing to the evolution of a brand.
3. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and manage time well.
5. Experience in oil & gas and/or renewable energy is preferred.
6. Knowledge of photography and digital platforms is a plus.
