Description
The HR Advisor works closely with the HR Business Partner to provide an effective and customer focused HR service to managers and employees. It will be the first point of contact for HR queries, providing procedural and routine advice and drafting and filing correspondence.
The role will support the HR Business Partner and Head of HR with more complex and employee relations matters and will work with the Finance team to ensure that payroll is processed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Responding to HR enquiries:
* Act as first point of contact for HR related queries, triaging and passing to other colleagues where appropriate.
* Manage HR email inbox, responding to or allocating enquiries as necessary.
* Provide basic or routine advice, investigating where necessary and escalating to HR Business Partner for more complex matters.
* Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner and Head of HR, provide advice on more complex matters.
Support HR Business Partner in the management of employee life cycle processes:
* Draft procedural correspondence (for example meeting invites) on behalf of HR Business Partner or Head of HR.
* Ensure formal and informal meetings are arranged in line with relevant HR Policies and Processes.
* Effectively administer meetings, including finding dates, booking rooms and inviting attendees.
* Circulate required documentation in advance and in line with policy requirements.
* Take notes of formal meetings.
* Work alongside the HR Data Specialist to ensure that all employee lifecycle documentation is filed accurately within the relevant electronic systems.
Payroll administration:
* Collate payroll information and submit to Finance to agreed schedules.
* Investigate errors or discrepancies and take remedial action where needed.
Administration and correspondence:
* Draft HR routine correspondence from templates.
* Keep HR trackers up to date and escalate potential issues to HRBP.
* Alongside the HR Data Specialist, ensure that all documentation is filed accurately and information systems are promptly updated with relevant information.
* Any other general administration for the HR team where necessary.
Undertake specific HR related projects as allocated.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience of working within an HR Team, and hold or be working towards CIPD Level 3 within HR or equivalent qualification.
* Up to date working knowledge of employment law.
* Experience of interpreting and advising on established policies and procedures.
* Experience of using HR information systems.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent customer service skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Research and analytical skills.
* Proven ability to problem solve.
* Understanding of GPDR, confidentiality and data protection principles as they apply to an HR function.
