Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, ambitious and dynamic leader to champion a “Safety First” culture at our active processing plants in Nottingham and Leicester. Reporting directly to the Recycling Director, this role offers a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Overview of the Role:
* Strategic Development: Shape and steer the H&S strategy across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
* Operational Execution: Directly manage day-to-day safety operations, ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation, enhancing our safety systems, and leading our safety team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the adoption of best practices in health and safety standards and initiatives.
* Develop, record, and report on H&S KPIs, providing insights and action plans.
* Manage the Health & Safety team on a daily basis.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
* Maintain and enhance H&S management systems to meet ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
* Investigate accidents and lead post-incident analysis and improvements.
* Coordinate responses to non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
* Deliver comprehensive health and safety training across all levels of staff.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring constructive relationships and compliance.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Degree in a relevant field preferred; IOSH membership and NEBOSH qualification essential.
* Demonstrated experience in leading H&S initiatives and cultural change programs.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Proficient in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
