What are the aims?
This is an ideal junior opportunity for someone wishing to commence a flourishing career in procurement. What will I be doing?
If you are not already qualified, we will subsidise training to CIPS level 4. The Council has a diverse requirement which will offer the post holder a wide opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in Procurement via execution of various framework call offs and supporting procurement activity on major spend categories across the organisation. You will also administer procurement project requests in line with procurement procedures and offer procurement support across all categories as required.
What will I need?
A high standard of written communication skills and electronic system knowledge is essential, along with a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of analysing data, quality and performance assessment principles. It would be desirable to demonstrate an understanding of procurement within either the private or public sector.
What will I receive in return?
In return for your skills, attributes & knowledge you will be joining a values-based organisation which prides itself on employee engagement, an excellent employment package and a rewarding career with an innovative and award-winning service. This role comes with a highly competitive benefits package including salary, flexible working, and continuous professional development. In addition to this we support our people inside and out of work – offering a very competitive pension scheme, employee support programmes, and access to a number of salary sacrifice schemes.
