Salary: £24,761.88 – £31,491 (Depending on experience and Qualifications)
Upper range of the salary band includes an out of hours responsibility premium and service lead accountabilities. Contract: Full-time/Permanent
Horizons North East is seeking a dedicated Support and Housing Welfare Advisor to join our team and help us continue our mission of providing high-quality, trauma-informed supported accommodation for individuals facing Housing Crisis.

Role Overview
As a Support and Housing Welfare Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that Horizons properties are safe and supportive environments for the vulnerable adults who rely upon the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a caseload of 15-20 clients across 4 properties in the Blyth and Cramlington areas of Northumberland
· Recognise and respond to any safeguarding concerns
· Work in partnership with the Local Authority and other community organisations on projects designed to bolster community cohesion and the local environment.
· Offer emotional and practical support using a trauma-informed approach to empower individuals to make progress towards goals important to them.
· Work alongside clients to ensure properties are well maintained, clean and free from health and safety hazards
· Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and support provided.
· Respond robustly to any reports of anti-social behaviour
· Advocate on behalf of residents facing welfare challenges and signpost to partner organisations
What We’re Looking For
· Experience in a previous support or safeguarding role / or a degree/diploma in a relevant subject
· Personal values that align with that of our organisation
· A strong understanding of welfare benefits, and safeguarding procedures.
· A strength based focused individual with a commitment to trauma-informed practice
· Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the team, clients and community partners.
· Strong IT and administrative skills to maintain detailed records.
