Financial Controller
Salary: £45,000-£60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Gloucester, with flexible working as agreed with the executive
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Prosperity Care & Wellbeing, an award-winning supported living care provider in Gloucestershire, is looking for a Financial Controller to join our team. We're committed to delivering personalised, person-centred care for adults aged 18-100+ and supporting the development and wellbeing of both the people we support and our staff.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Director/Founder, you will lead the finance team and oversee all financial operations. You will play a key role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring the Finance department runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all accounting operations for the group including Invoicing, Accounts receivable & Payable and the General Ledger ensuring their integrity.
2. Support payroll processing and administer monthly PAYE/NIC processing along with year end disclosures/submissions.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, as defined by the executive, along with variance analysis to budget/forecast/prior year.
4. Support operational understanding of performance and key drivers through regular and/or ad hoc preparation of commercial finance reports.
5. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and additional financial forecasts.
6. Undertake/support month & year end close process and liaise with auditors as required.
7. Support external tax advisers' preparation of annual Corporation Tax submissions.
8. Manage cash flow and working capital, including cash forecasting.
9. Manage and comply with all UK government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
11. Coordinate financial process and systems developments as required.
What We're Looking For:
1. A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of three years in a similar role.
2. Strong technical accounting expertise and leadership skills.
3. A proactive, detail-oriented professional with a focus on continuous improvement.
4. Experience managing teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
