Internal IT Rotation: Hub based 5 days per week from our Bristol Office.
Cyber Security and Cloud rotation: Hybrid: A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford.

About the role:
You will be working across three IT teams: Internal IT, Cyber Security, and Cloud. These teams provide technology leadership within the organisation and to its members and customers allowing them to focus on delivering Jisc's digital vision for members and customers.
This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to gain valuable experience within different areas of IT across a two-year period, getting a clear idea of what each is about and helping you to find your niche. You’ll rotate between the different technology teams, starting with Internal IT where you will get hands-on experience within the service desk team which will shape and enhance your skills to then move into our Cyber and Cloud teams.
What you’ll be doing:
The sorts of projects and tasks you’re likely to be involved with vary from team to team but here is a flavour of what to expect from each:
Internal IT:
* Manage and triage all tickets through the ITSM (IT Service Management) application.
* Ensure all Incidents and Service Requests are successfully and accurately identified, categorised, prioritised, diagnosed and managed in the ITSM application.
* Provide excellent and clear communication of Incidents and Service Requests.
Skills we think would benefit you in this role:
* Understanding of computing concepts incl. Windows and Mac desktop operating systems.
* Understanding of IT networking concepts incl. firewalls, routers, switches.
* Experience of installing and configuring IT software and hardware.
Cyber Security:
The cyber threat landscape is always evolving, but so are we. Jisc’s Security Operations team safeguards both the Janet Network and Internal security whilst also sharing intelligence and advising our members to keep their own networks safe. You will:
* Triage and respond to security alerts and tickets - recognising the need to escalate.
* Participate in incident handling duties as part of the Janet network CSIRT function.
* Take part in the development of incident response drills and exercises to improve processes and procedures and to define improvement to incident response metrics.
Skills we think would benefit you in this role:
* Fundamental understanding of IT environments and common infrastructure including: Microsoft stack (Azure, Active Directory).
* Familiarity with a range of security tools and systems such as ERDs, SIEMs, SOAR and IDSs.
Cloud:
The cloud solutions team's mission is to deliver a suite of revenue-generating services that help our members and customers benefit from well-architected public cloud solutions, with a focus on improving their security posture and governance, reducing their carbon footprint and managing their spend. You will:
* Support the Cloud project portfolio management process, ensuring professional service engagements are logged, planned, and assigned for delivery.
* Develop and learn the role of a Cloud Project manager, through training, documentation and hands-on development.
* Work with service management in cloud and contribute to the running and maintenance of services.
Skills we think would benefit you in this role:
