About the Role:
1. Deliver engaging and challenging Economics lessons to A-Level students, focusing on examination board specifications.
2. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, including lectures, discussions, case studies, and simulations.
3. Facilitate student-led discussions and debates, encouraging critical analysis of economic issues and policies.
4. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
5. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Economics curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current economic trends and best practices in economics education.
6. Support students with university applications, including Oxbridge preparation, and provide guidance on career pathways in economics and related fields.
7. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as economics clubs, guest speaker events, and participation in economics competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for practical application of skills.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience teaching Economics to A-Level, with a proven track record of achieving excellent student results.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to present complex economic concepts in an accessible manner.
4. A deep understanding of economic principles, theories, and policies, both microeconomic and macroeconomic.
5. Commitment to fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and a passion for economics in young people.
6. Ability to use technology effectively to enhance economics teaching and learning.
