ABOUT THE STORY COFFEE
The Story Coffee is more than just a café—it’s an essential part of the Story Churches Network mission in Glasgow, dedicated to serving the community and sharing the Gospel. We believe that hospitality and faith go hand in hand, creating a welcoming space where people can enjoy excellent coffee while engaging in meaningful conversations about life and faith.
As part of this vision, we are looking for a Barista Evangelist—someone who is not only skilled in coffee-making and managing a coffee shop but also passionate about building relationships, sharing the love of Jesus, and being actively involved in the mission.
JOB PURPOSE
The Barista Evangelist will be responsible for managing the coffee shop, delivering exceptional customer service while embracing the café’s missional purpose.
This role is ideal for someone with a heart for hospitality and Christian faith, who sees a coffee shop not just as a business but as a place for gospel-centred conversations and community transformation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing drinks, making sandwiches, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness, all while being open to discussing the Christian faith and actively participating in the spiritual life of The Story Coffee.
As a Community Interest Company, The Story Coffee expects the candidate to train volunteers in coffee-making, food preparation, and shop maintenance. The candidate will also manage the volunteer rota.
As an evangelistic barista, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with customers, share your faith in a respectful and engaging way, and contribute to the café’s mission in the local community.

6. Engage in meaningful conversations about the Christian faith in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
7. Work closely with the board of directors and line manager to ensure the café operates effectively and meets its objectives.
8. Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring all resources are well looked after.
9. Develop strong relationships with regular customers and the local community.
10. Contribute ideas to increase sales and enhance the café’s menu, keeping up with key coffee trends.
11. Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to the team’s development.
