Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a n Occupational Therapy Assistant to work within our Acute Stroke team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. As part of this role, you will work within a team of Occupational Therapists providing a high level of acute rehabilitation to patients admitted following an acute stroke. You will be required to work alongside the therapists and autonomously carrying out exercise and maintenance programmes. Your role will also involve you supporting with both group and rehabilitation sessions planned by a therapist. As part of the Acute Stroke therapy department, you will be joining a large supportive team passionate about caring for the residents of East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to attend an in-service training programme and complete supervision sessions with your line manager. You may be responsible for supporting with the completion of data inputting and assisting with the ordering of equipment through the Millbrook system to ensure timely discharge for patients across the trust. Main duties of the job To assist registered practitioners in supporting patients with a rehabilitation programme, promoting independence and supporting active recovery. To work as part of an multi-disciplinary team providing therapeutic care as delegated by the registered practitioner(s).
