Senior Environmental Test Engineer
Location: Uxbridge
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35-hour week (early Friday finish)
Join a trailblazing British engineering firm known globally for crafting the ultimate "last chance" technology - world-leading safety systems for military aircraft. This role lets you dive into the world of high-stakes engineering, where your work directly contributes to life-saving innovations and top-notch performance standards.
Role Overview
As a Senior Environmental Test Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in planning, designing, and executing a range of rigorous tests to validate that materials meet both design and customer specifications. You'll oversee the entire test process, from planning through to post-test analysis and reporting, using your expertise in testing programs and military/civilian standards.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Lead various tests, including Ballistic Signal Transmission Testing (BSTS), Vibration & Shock response (SRS), Mechanical Shock, and Environmental Testing.
2. Conduct testing for temperature shock, humidity, altitude, static load, drop testing, and more.
3. Perform detailed analysis and compile thorough reports on test outcomes.
4. Delegate tasks within small project teams, contributing to an efficient and collaborative testing environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We're looking for someone with extensive hands-on experience in similar testing procedures, particularly in managing tests through to completion, with a strong capability in reporting and analysis. Prior experience in small, collaborative project teams with a focus on task delegation (rather than management) will be an advantage.

3. Static load, climatic, and temperature shock testing
4. Environmental and pyrotechnic/explosive testing
5. Instron Machine, salt fog, and SO2 testing
6. Knowledge of Military and Civilian Test Standards
Team Structure & Working Environment

2. Hybrid work arrangement (2 days remote, office attendance as required by testing needs).
Benefits
1. 9% non-contributory company pension
2. 4x salary life assurance
3. Healthcare plan
4. Lunchtime finish every Friday
5. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with additional leave purchase options)
6. Cycle to work scheme
