PE Teacher - SEMH School Location: Southend Salary: Dependant on experience Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: ASAP The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons to students with SEMH needs. You will engage students in physical activities that promote their physical health, emotional well-being, and social development. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of students with SEMH. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and builds self-esteem. Promote physical health, teamwork, and social skills through a variety of sports and physical activities. Adapt teaching methods and resources to ensure all students can access and benefit from PE lessons. Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to support students' individual learning and behavioral needs. Monitor and track students' progress in PE, providing feedback and interventions as needed. Support students' emotional and social development through physical activity and sportsmanship. Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of students, ensuring a safe environment both in and outside of lessons.About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Physical Education or related field. Experience working with students who have SEMH needs or other special educational needs. A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to motivate and engage students. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a structured and supportive environment. Passionate about the benefits of physical activity for students' well-being, social skills, and academic success.
