A Quantity Surveyor job with a growing private sector client based in Willenhall, paying up to £60,000 DOE Your new company Hays are delighted to be supporting our large private sector client in recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join their thriving team and department, with the role to be based in Willenhall and with travel to sites across the UK. Your new role Your new role will manage all contractual and commercial areas of allocated construction projects. These projects vary in size and can include huge, multi-million government contracts. Your responsibilities include: Using your commercial experience to support tendering and negotiation processes. Generate, control and oversee/monitor project budgets, working closely with the Contracts Manager. Evaluate the customer contract terms to determine whether there may be any possible risk or further opportunity, supporting re-negotiation when possible. Agree additional charges for work outside of the agreed works to maximise potential opportunity. Tracking any changes to the design or construction work as required, whilst constantly monitoring budget. Your role will be split between office and home-based, whilst also regularly attending site visits. The will include local visits, but also with 2-3 days per month further afield, occasionally requiring overnight stays. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed, you require experience working in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry, whilst also specifically having experience with doors/door fitting, access solutions, or a similar industry (fenestration, tec). You will also need to be a Qualified QS. You will be able to reference times you have led projects of varying size from inception to completion, whilst also being able to call upon cost control and tendering/negotiation experience. You should hold a full UK Driving Licence and be happy to pass a security check ahead of employment, with the flexibility to attend site visits across the UK, which may occasionally include overnight stays. You should also be a UK resident as no VISA sponsorship will be offered in this role.
