KS1 Teacher Position
A ‘GOOD’ Primary School in Fulwood (PR2) is looking to appoint a full-time Year 2 Teacher starting Monday, 24th February 2025. This role will be for 12 months, with the potential for a permanent position depending on the success of the teacher. This position has become available due to the end of the current teacher's notice period.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a new start at a school that values their work ethic and passion for education. The class itself is lovely, and each child is showing great progress, both academically and personally. This is something we are keen to maintain and build on. Warm, welcoming, and inclusive, our school aims to offer the absolute best to its pupils and staff members.”
SLT Member
The Class:
There are 29 pupils in the class, and pupil behaviour is generally good. There are two children with learning plans set in place. A general Teaching Assistant is also assigned to each class, who will assist with the delivery of the core curriculum in the morning and then deliver 1:1 sessions in the afternoon. To ensure a smooth transition into teaching, the school will grant access to the shared school driver (which holds lesson preparation and a record of pupils’ attainment charts).
The School:
This is a ‘Good’ Primary School graded by a recent Ofsted assessment. The school itself is smaller than average size, with pupil numbers in the classes ranging from 25 to 30. The Head Teacher has stressed that the SLT operates an open-door policy to make staff feel comfortable and confident within the school. Additionally, the school promotes continuous professional development.
Getting to the School:
Based within the Fulwood area of Preston, the school is easily accessible via car and public transport, with ample free parking on site.
The Ideal Candidate:
The school is willing to consider both fully qualified and early career teachers. For early career teachers, experience taking KS1 classes is essential. The Head Teacher is looking for a motivated and organised individual who can hit the ground running from the start. The teacher must also have their DBS on the update service, along with two suitable references.
