We are looking for an inspiring and forward-thinking Deputy CEO to join our leadership team and help guide our organisation as we support the global transition to Net Zero.

As a member of the Carbon Trust’s senior leadership team and the Carbon Trust Board, you will shape the strategy and success of the wider group. The role is directly responsible for Carbon Trust’s consulting work globally across all of our key sectors and client groups. As Deputy CEO you will also deputise for the CEO as and when required. A key initial focus of the role will be the implementation of our new strategy.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: Support the implementation and further development of our new strategy, including the move to global sector groups, helping us stay at the forefront of sustainability consultancy and maximising our mission impact.
2. Business Performance: Work closely with teams to oversee business performance, ensuring we meet financial, mission, and engagement goals.
3. Innovation & Digital Transformation: Strengthen our digital, strategic, and change management capabilities, integrating AI and digital tools into our client services.
4. Client & External Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and develop an external engagement strategy to enhance our impact in key sectors, growing key client relationships and funding.
5. Operational Excellence: Help refine our systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.
6. People & Talent Development: Support project resourcing and team development, ensuring we harness the best global and local expertise for every client and provide an inclusive, exciting culture that supports strong employee development.
7. Stakeholder Management: Work alongside the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board to help define priorities and direction, stepping in for the CEO when needed.

* Experience in the low-carbon sector, with leadership roles in high-impact consultancy.
* Proven track record of delivering commercial results.
* Passion for our mission and a deep understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities.
* Proven ability to motivate and support teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
* Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and teams.
* Experience in leading a consulting business, with P&L responsibility.
* Understanding of sustainability needs at a senior level, including C-suite, Board, and Government perspectives.
* Experience leading through growth and organisational change.
* Strong knowledge of financial, risk, client, and operational requirements in a consulting environment.
