Main duties of the job
1. Deliver high-quality clinical assessment, intervention, and treatment for a diverse patient population.
2. Make complex clinical decisions autonomously, based on thorough assessments and diagnostic interpretations.
3. Provide expert care within your professional scope, ensuring the best outcomes for patients.
4. Work within the Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England.
5. Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance patient care, develop services, and maintain clinical excellence.
6. Lead and support medical, nursing, and allied health teams, contributing to the Trust's advanced practice strategy and vision.
7. Engage in training and education within the clinical area, fostering a culture of learning and development.
8. Maintain your professional competence and pursue opportunities for research and audit.
9. Participate in formal and informal educational activities, including weekly medical Grand Rounds, geriatric department meetings, and specialist clinics.

Knowledge Requirements
Essential
1. Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence to discuss patient management with other members of the MDT.
2. Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology.
3. Sound knowledge in relation to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
4. Ability to take a full systematic focused history.
5. Ability to make a diagnosis based on interpretation of imaging and pathology results.
6. Knowledge to support safe clinical decision making in relation to discharge.
7. Proven management skills: effective organisational abilities, supervisory skills, leadership skills, change management skills.
8. Clinical governance, current health service priorities, and the national and local nursing agenda.
9. IT literate.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of more than one area of clinical practice (i.e., surgery, medicine, orthopaedics, ITU).
2. Health and safety knowledge.
Qualifications - Academic/Craft/Professional
Essential
1. Registered with relevant healthcare professional body (NMC / HCPC / GPC etc).
2. MSc in advanced clinical practice.
3. Meet the criteria as outlined by the relevant specialty college or faculty (where applicable).
4. Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
5. ALS provider.
6. Non-medical prescriber.
Desirable
1. Relevant teaching qualification.
2. Evidence of research and audit.
3. Ability to perform basic interpretation of CT brain & Skeletal X-ray.
4. ALS Instructor.
Experience
Essential
1. Significant post-registration experience, most recent of which should be in a senior position OR experience as defined by specialty college/faculty.
2. Direct supervision of junior staff and supervision of students.
3. Evidence of contribution to audit programmes within practice.
4. Evidence of managing complex patients in stressful and emotional situations where life-changing events are being communicated and clinically managed.
5. Relevant teaching/supervising/mentoring experience.
6. Evidence of managing acute presentations.
7. Clinical diagnostic skills, including the ability to interpret as a minimum CXR and laboratory investigations.
8. Professional and patient-focused, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
Desirable
1. Project management experience.
