The Role
We are looking to recruit a Specialist Radiographer to join the Radiology MRI at University Hospital Wishaw!
The Specialist Radiographer will justify, authorise and perform Radiographic examinations. Aswell as providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service, for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire.
The successful candidate will supervise Radiographers and SHCSW, ensuring continuity of service delivery.
Contract type and Shift Pattern
Fixed-Term until 31 October 2025 / Full Time / 37 hours / Band 6
To cover MRI - 7 days working with a work pattern of 5 days worked over 7

What we'll need you to bring
8. Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC Registration
9. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
10. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
11. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
12. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
13. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
14. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
15. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
16. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
17. Effective time management skills
18. Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have:
19. College of Radiographers IV injection certificate
20. CT, mammo or angio experience
21. Relevant clinical experience at radiographer grade with proven competencies in applying theory to practice
22. Training on relevant equipment
23. Training on Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000
24. Ability to train student radiographers
25. Ability to participate in Out of Hours working
26. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence
