Assistant Management Accountant
ABS are an industry-leading and forward-thinking organisation, working within the Utilities Infrastructure Sector. We pride ourselves on being specialists in everything we do. We have a big year planned for growth and have a new opening within our Finance and Audit Team as an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a brand-new role due to client demand and will be a great opportunity for someone looking to be more client facing in their Finance position.
The Role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will assist the Finance and Audit Team in ensuring that insightful management information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to meet internal deadlines, and that finance governance is always adhered to with regards to 3rd parties. You will also be supporting on any work that we have for clients and from your first day you will become an integral part of the Finance and Audit Team from the start. Other role responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the preparation of timely and accurate management accounts for all departments for ABS Commercial Solutions and its clients.
* Balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepayments and Accruals.
* Bank reconciliation.
* Bank Facility management with month-end reporting and reconciliations.
* Fixed asset registers including additions, disposals and depreciation.
* Preparing and posting month-end journals.
* Monthly & Quarterly VAT returns.
* P11D production and submission.
* National Statistics forms and other government surveys.
* Ad-hoc duties, including supporting the day-to-day bookkeeping of ABS covering for holidays, other ad hoc duties and projects as required.
* Ad-hoc Client finance requirements similar to those internally for ABS.
* Initial role will be to support on the Actual Cost Audits for clients and their preferred partners. This will require: Integration of data, Proving cost spend on the contract and Determining value for money for the main client.
Ideal Candidate
You will already be working within a similar role and be able to complete the above tasks, be AAT Level 3 Qualified or working towards this and be keen to progress your knowledge and career. Have a strong eye for detail, work well in a close team and a passion for taking ownership of a situation. You will also ideally have:
* Strong work ethic and be a self-starter.
* Organised and have good attention to detail/accuracy skills.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and be a team player.
* Experience within a hands-on role in finance.
* Strong IT skills for communication and documentation including Excel, Outlook and Word.
* Use of Xero preferable or similar accounting software.
* Clean Driving licence as possible requirement to travel to clients.
* Office based role.
