Rate of Pay: £17.72 - £22.32 per Hour
Summary:
We are seeking an Independent Living Officer to deliver high-quality, person-centered services aligned with the Living Independently in Blaenau Gwent in the 21st Century strategy. This role involves supporting and motivating staff to deliver personalised care, promoting independence, and ensuring compliance with CSSIW domiciliary care standards.
Responsibilities:
Service Delivery & Compliance: Ensure service delivery aligns with CSSIW standards and Council policies. Provide information, advice, and practical support to service users and their families, fostering independence and monitoring service provision to meet agreed outcomes.
Risk Management & Safeguarding: Conduct and review risk assessments for both carers and service users.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including health professionals and social care staff, to identify, deliver, and monitor appropriate support plans. Attend case conferences, joint reviews, and other collaborative meetings to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
Staff Supervision & Development: Monitor and supervise support staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide training in line with the Social Care Induction Framework.
Operational Management: Oversee resource management, including staffing allocations and compliance with financial policies. Support absence management and ensure effective communication through team meetings, one-to-one sessions, and group learning.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Care or Management (in a care setting).
Commitment to completing NVQ Level 4 in Management within 3 years.
Commitment to obtaining BTECH Trusted Assessor certification within 18 months.
Valid Manual Handling All Wales Passport certification.
Experience required:
Significant experience in social/health care settings.
Supervising and managing staff in a care environment.
Working with public and statutory agencies.
