The Company
Based in the Midlands my client is one of the leading workplace design and fit-out companies with an extensive portfolio of blue chip clients across the UK.
Specialising in workplace design, refurbishment, fit-out, design & build and relocation management they work alongside facilities departments, developers, building surveyors and commercial property agents to set industry standards in design, restructuring and refurbishment of the contemporary workspace.
The Contracts Manager Role:
Based in the Midlands they require a Contracts Manager to take control of the delivery of commercial construction projects consisting of fast track interior fit-outs and major refurbishments. These projects are Design & Build Fit-Outs, with project values from £500k to £10m. They could involve structural alterations and will have a heavy M&E content.
The Contracts Manager will work in a team supporting projects nationwide:
* Build good relations with the client and project team
* Ensure all aspects of the build process are satisfactorily completed on time and within cost and to the highest possible standards
* Be able to carry out perfect delivery and produce snag free jobs
* Must be able to run at least two contracts at one time – varying in value from £500k to £5m
* Liaison with construction teams and landlords and clients
* Design control and coordination, directly liaise with designers
* Management of Site Manager and site teams
* Manage all aspects of build process
* Visit sites at least one day a week
The Successful Contracts Manager:
* Track record of successful projects either internally and externally
* In-depth knowledge of the construction process including both new build and fit-out / refurbishment
* Understands the pre-construction process
* Can organise and manage the design phase of a project
* Able to collate information from his team to prepare and present the project report.
* Understanding of how to comply with a H&S policy and H&S management system
