The Opportunity:
My client, a managed service provider, is currently looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their team in a unique split role - 50% working directly with a high-security client, on-site in Plymouth, and 50% supporting multiple MSP customers remotely and on-site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT professional from a single IT environment looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced MSP setting or an established MSP Engineer seeking their next challenge at a leading, regional MSP.
You'll gain exposure to a diverse range of technologies, clients, and security-focused environments while developing your skills in a role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and client engagement.
Skills and Experience:
1. 2+ years' experience in a similar helpdesk or IT environment within a 2nd Line role essential
2. Experience working for an MSP is essential
3. Strong Windows Server Experience (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPOs, Print Management, AD Sync)
4. Excellent Office 365 knowledge (Email concepts, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD)
5. Basic Network understanding (LAN, WAN, VLAN, WIFI, IPSEC, VPN)
6. Experience with onsite/offsite backup products and storage (including cloud storage)
7. VMware/Hyper-V knowledge
8. Working within an ITIL environment, preferably holding a current qualification
9. Technical qualifications such as CompTIA+, Network+ would be advantageous
10. Experience of Agile methodologies would be an advantage
11. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
12. Excellent customer service skills
13. A full driving licence (access to a vehicle is not required, but beneficial)
