Our Protective Design Engineers are engineers who specialise in the design of buildings and infrastructure to protect against acts of terrorism, espionage, and criminality. The Role We have an opportunity for an Associate Director to join our Protective Design Practice where we use our expert knowledge to develop technical and bespoke security engineering solutions for our clients. The role would suit someone with an academic background in engineering. More importantly to have demonstratable experience as a leader of security advice and design experience, having worked with Security Consultant for a minimum of 10 years. With experience of identify opportunities, bidding, design and implementing risk based physical and electronic security solutions. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership : Working with senior management develop and execute strategies for Protective design and Security, aligning with TT’s vision and wider business goals. Client Engagement : Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and tailoring security solutions accordingly. Project Oversight : Oversee security engineering projects, ensuring successful project delivery, quality, and adherence to timelines. Collaboration : Work closely with client and design teams throughout RIBA stages, including Architects engineers, and project managers. Business Development : Identify growth opportunities, lead bids and proposals, and contribute to PD&S office expansion. Industry Influence : Represent the company at industry events, conferences and forums, advocating for risk based security solutions. Qualifications Proven Track Record : Extensive experience working on a range of security projects both within the UK and overseas. Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, driving successful project outcomes. Client-Focused : Strong client management skills, with a passion for exceeding expectations. Strategic Thinking : Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies aligned with expanding PD&S opportunities Industry Knowledge : In-depth understanding of security engineering sector, challenges, and innovations. Commitment : Highly proactive and adaptable security focused leader, with excellent people management and communication skills. Collaborative Approach : A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Effective Cost Working : Demonstrated experience in managing in house engineering teams, projects deliverables, optimizing resources while maintaining quality and efficiency. Chartered Engineer : Security Engineering background equivalent to chartered Engineer status. Ideally a principal member of RSES or equivalent security institution.
