Working as part of the Specialty Training Programme Support Team in the PGMDE function, the post holder will support the coordination and delivery of postgraduate education and training across the North East and North Cumbria.
Duties will vary day to day and can include a wide range of administration tasks including regular communications and liaison with NHS England North East administrative colleagues and the Lead Employer Trust.
Main duties of the job
The Programme Support Assistant will be responsible for the provision of administrative and clerical support to the Specialty Training team and functions in the North East and North Cumbria.
* General office duties to support the business
* Ensuring that agendas and documentation for meetings and events are available by required deadlines
* Assisting with key Programme Support functions (e.g., Learner Events, Trainee assessment panels, etc.)
* Accurate data processing: data entry and monitoring of quality of data
* Acting as the first point of contact for the Programme Support team (electronically & verbally)
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Base level of theoretical knowledge e.g., GCSE Grade C or above, NVQ, ECDL or equivalent level of knowledge (formal qualification preferred)
* NVQ or equivalent in Business or Office Administration.
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of working in an administrative / clerical or secretarial support role
* Experience of working in a team
* Experience of working to deadlines
* Working knowledge of IT / all Microsoft office packages (e.g., for data entry / data validation / diary management / email prioritisation etc.)
* Understanding of data protection legislation including information governance, the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act
* Experience of working with data systems or working in an administrative environment (e.g., Excel, Access, or role specific systems - Intrepid)
* Experience of working with virtual meeting technology e.g., videoconferencing
* Knowledge of or experience of updating websites / webpages
* Experience of assisting the planning of effective meetings and other events
* Experience of preparing information to formulate reports
* Experience of working in a diverse and complex organisation
