My client based in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland is looking for a Quality Assurance engineer to join their busy team due to expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily verification of all CCPs (cooking, cooling, hot filling, ph, etc.)
2. Daily temperature checks of all production rooms, chills and products
3. Daily quality checks on all ingredients, WIP materials and finished products to ensure correct quality and traceability
4. Complete Daily GMP walk around production area and highlight any non-conformances to the supervisor/charge-hand/manager and Senior QA/QA Team Leader
5. Responsible for placing any non-conforming product On Hold/Restricted Use/Condemned and completing relevant On Hold Log
6. Completing of Daily/Monthly/Quarterly Glass & Hard Plastic Audits
7. Verify finished product labels and crate/case end labels to ensure correct Use By Dates
8. Complete weekly hand washing temperature checks
9. Completion of GMP Audits
10. Completion of Hygiene & Fabrication Audits
11. Complete equipment calibrations e.g. temperature probe, pH meters and sieves
12. Completion of Corrective Action Reports for any non-conforming products or incidents to ensure effective close out identifying root cause and corrective actions
13. Attendance at daily tier 1 lean board meetings and recording of daily issues onto QA lean board
14. Daily Fire exit checks
15. Attending taste panel as part of wider Technical Team
16. Completion of weekend taste panels and communication of any issues
17. Collection and storage of all retained product samples
18. Weekly EOSL Reviews
19. Complete specific allergen room swabbing release/product testing e.g. Gluten Free/Vegan
20. Completion of weekly cooking & cooling verifications
21. Creation of dummy packs for production
22. Completion of Correct Action Reports for any non-conforming products or incidents
23. Any other reasonable tasks related to position as deemed suitable by QA Team Leader
24. To be flexible to work weekends and evenings when required.
Essential Criteria:
1. Minimum of one year's experience in Food Industry or Food Related Degree
2. Knowledge of Food Safety Principles/Good Manufacturing Practices
3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
4. Good verbal & written communications Skills (High standard of English essential)
5. Flexible approach to working hours to cover needs of the business
6. Reliable and strong work ethic with attention to detail
Desirable Criteria:
1. Level 3 Food Safety
2. Level 2 HACCP
3. Internal Auditor Training
4. Continental shift pattern
Job Types: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £14-£14.50 per hour (dependant on experience)
