Horizon Healthcare is looking for a Healthcare Assistant who has an approachable manner and is able to work within our friendly team. You will be integral in maintaining the functioning of the practice and be able to work under pressure.
Up to 30 hours per week. A minimum of one late shift (10:30 - 18:30) would be required.
Salary dependent on experience.
SystmOne experience preferred.
GP Practice experience preferred.

Main Duties of the Job
Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. To be able to work at the main and branch surgery sites.

Job Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
1. Wound care / Dressings / Management
2. Clip and suture removals
3. Venepuncture
4. ECGs
5. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate
6. Lifestyle advice
7. CHD reviews
8. Fitting and removing of 24 hour BP monitor
9. Assisting minor surgery/ coil fits / implants
10. Re-stocking of consulting rooms, storage cupboards, etc.
11. Stock taking
12. Stock ordering
13. Vaccine / cold chain storage monitoring and recording
14. Maintain, clean and check function of appropriate equipment used within the surgery
15. Long term condition reviews
