Work Placement Coordinator (22.5 hours per week -fixed term 12 months)

Ongo Communities is part of the Ongo group, a charity that supports at least 700 people each year to be empowered to improve their lives.
The role
We are seeking someone with the passion and skills to engage with customers and employers to create meaningful work placements to support customers to enhance their skills and CV:
1. Work as part of a team to support local people, including Ongo tenants and disadvantaged people to develop the confidence and skills to move forward in their lives through offering voluntary placements in a range of businesses and voluntary sector organisations.
2. Design and deliver an engagement plan to canvass local businesses and work towards and exceed targets relating to the agreed number of volunteers achieved within specified areas.
We are offering a salary of £32,154 pro rata to join our small, friendly, and busy team for 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Knowledge and awareness of the issues and factors faced by members of the community and in particular those facing barriers to employment.
2. Creativity and ability to work on own initiative to canvass local businesses, charities and Ongo departments to create a range of suitable work placement opportunities.
3. Ability to meet and exceed set targets of 8 week work placements per year.
4. Ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate energy and vision.
5. Excellent administration and computer skills.
6. Ability to transport yourself across all areas Ongo has properties.
