Job Scope
We have a great opportunity for a Security Technology (CAD) Technician, to support our in-house Design Engineers.
As a CAD Technician, you will be already ‘familiar’ with AutoCAD 2D and become part of a dedicated team where you will be further trained and mentored to undertake the role.
You will also be responsible for:
1. Producing high-quality, detailed engineering drawings to the industry and our team’s standards to meet the programme requirements of the projects.
2. Regular liaison with the Security Technology Manager to communicate progress and any design issues.
3. Ensuring working procedures comply with the internal drawing governance process.
4. Managing your own time to meet required deadlines.
Needs to have
1. Some technical understanding of substation design and associated ancillary systems (DC supplies, battery systems, LVAC, etc.).
2. Proficient using AutoCAD.
3. Proficient in using Microsoft Applications.
4. Understanding of the industry health & safety requirements.
5. Full driving license.
Needs to do
1. Design of layouts, general arrangement drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, cabling diagrams, schedules, and core sheets for Cyber Secure Access Controls.
2. Site visits to conduct surveys and verify the accuracy of the existing drawings/information in the room layouts, general arrangement drawings, wiring diagrams, cabling, and cable schedules and to identify electrical supplies for our new equipment installed.
3. Scan existing drawings and site drawing index at site.
4. Ability to create cabling and wiring diagrams from schematic/circuit diagrams.
5. Able to work to and achieve project deadlines.
6. Provide hands-on design expertise.
7. Work closely with their project team.
8. Attend internal or client design reviews.
9. Specify materials and create BOM’s.
10. Willing to work frequently from locations other than being office-based.
