Key Responsibilities
As a Residential Property Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to post-completion. Your key duties will include:
* Managing the sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold properties, including advising clients on the legal implications.
* Handling remortgages, transfers of equity, and new build purchases from start to finish.
* Conducting property searches and liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other relevant parties.
* Drafting and reviewing contracts, title documents, and other legal documentation.
* Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and other legal requirements.
* Managing complex property issues such as lease extensions, shared ownership, and adverse possession.
* Advising clients on legal rights and obligations and offering expert guidance through the conveyancing process.
* Maintaining accurate case records and managing client expectations through regular communication.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, encouraging repeat business and referrals.
Key Skills and Experience Required
* Qualified solicitor with experience in residential property law.
* Strong understanding of the conveyancing process, including relevant legislation and regulations.
* Excellent client care skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
* Proven track record of managing residential property transactions independently.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Experience using conveyancing case management systems is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
