Job Description:
The Role
The post holder will support the Senior Midwives across a breadth of managerial aspects of the service in order to achieve safe, person centred and high quality maternity service.
The post holder will work across community, outpatients and acute services supporting the managerial aspects of the service as directed by the Senior Midwife.
The post holder will be a knowledgeable, skilled, positive and inspirational role model; able to influence clinical colleagues to achieve their full potential as healthcare professionals and to provide excellence in care.
They will work with the clinical teams by maintaining a visible presence within the clinical areas.
What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Midwife on Part 10 of the NMC Register or Registered Nurse Part 1 of the NMC Register
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
* Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

* Fixed Term or Secondment For 1 year.
* Full time
* 37 hours
* Please note this is a fixed term post for 1 year. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Maternity and Neonatal Services within University Hospital Wishaw.
