Role Overview: Commercial Lead - Post-Contract Award, Nuclear Construction Infrastructure To lead and manage the commercial function of nuclear construction infrastructure projects post-contract award. Responsible for ensuring commercial compliance, managing financial performance, mitigating risks, and driving value optimisation throughout the project life-cycle. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all commercial activities post-contract award, including contract administration, financial management, change control, and dispute resolution. Monitor and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial performance against targets. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project policies, and relevant industry regulations. Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks while maximising value and minimising costs. Manage and negotiate variations, claims, and final account settlements with stakeholders. Collaborate with project teams to ensure commercial strategies align with project objectives. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Support procurement teams in the negotiation and finalisation of subcontracts and supplier agreements. Prepare and present commercial reports, including cost/value reconciliations, project forecasts, and profitability assessments. Lead commercial meetings, contributing to strategic decision-making and problem-solving. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership with RICS, ICES, or equivalent is advantageous. Extensive experience in post-contract commercial management in the construction or infrastructure sector, preferably within nuclear or other highly regulated environments. Strong knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, and other standard forms of construction contracts. Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex projects, including contract negotiation, cost control, and dispute resolution. Proficiency in commercial software and financial management systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
